COVID-19: Public Notice No

On March 11, 2020, the World Health Organization (WHO) officially declared the COVID-19 outbreak a global pandemic (www.who.int). Simultaneously, the Government of India issued travel-related notifications that led to the suspension of all travel modes, both domestic and international (www.india.gov.in). This marked the beginning of widespread travel restrictions and lockdowns on a global scale, impacting both the movement of people and commercial activities.

Given the unforeseen force majeure situation and the subsequent travel lockdown worldwide, Manas Group, like many other travel and tourism companies, faced significant challenges in delivering services. Despite meticulous preparation of travel logistics well in advance, the circumstances rendered it impossible for tourists, both individuals and groups, to proceed with their travel plans.

In response to these challenges and with the primary aim of safeguarding our guests' financial interests, Manas Group made the decision to postpone all group tour departures until September 30, 2020. As the situation evolved, extensions beyond this date were considered in accordance with travel advisories issued by Indian and other governments.

While some guests opted to cancel their tours following Manas Group's cancellation policy, a substantial number chose to defer their travel plans to a later date. For those who deferred, Manas Group has introduced new Future Tour Vouchers (FTVs). These vouchers secure 100% of the tour amount in a credit shell, ensuring that guests retain the full value of their investment. Additionally, Manas Group commits to honoring the original tour price paid by guests for their future travels, with potential surcharges only applicable for super peak season dates.

To maintain transparency, the FTVs indicate a maximum estimated expense payable by guests. This includes considerations such as fresh visa charges, potential airline fee increases, operational expenses, foreign exchange fluctuations, statutory taxes, etc. + applicable GST. Manas Group acknowledges the uncertainty of global pricing dynamics over the next 18 months but is assuming this risk to prioritize the well-being of its guests.

The issuance of fresh FTVs has already begun, and guests can expect to receive them via their registered email ID shortly. Manas Group assures its guests that efforts to minimize the estimated expenses are ongoing, and any reductions or considerations provided by associates worldwide will be promptly reflected in the FTVs.

Responding to queries from guests, Manas Group is pleased to announce an extension of the future tour option until December 31, 2021 (subject to travel-related notifications from various governments). This extension provides flexibility for travelers amidst the current uncertainties.

For individual travelers who booked holidays through Manas Group's ‘Customized Holidays’ division, the company has initiated contact regarding the postponement of their holidays. Any variations in holiday prices due to changes in travel dates, hotels, package categories, fare differences, or GST adjustments will be communicated at the time of confirming the revised holiday details.

With the commencement of Unlock 4.0 by the Government of India after six months of strict lockdown, Manas Group is optimistic about a fresh start. In adherence to Unlock 4.0 guidelines, some of our Sales offices in Maharashtra and Kolkata are proposed to physically reopen from September 28, 2020, coinciding with World Tourism Day. Office visits will be by appointment only, respecting social distancing norms and ensuring the health and safety of all.
